Stop the Bombs
Please, please, please go to the cease fire page and sign the petition. The world needs to know how much we, the People of the United States of America do NOT support the choice of violent confrontation taken by the Israeli government and the terrorists of Hezbohla. Cease Fire Campaign

I have friends who, thankfully, were able to get out of Lebanon but their children will be forever traumatized by having bombs explode within a block of their home and behind their car when fleeing for the ship that got them out of there. NO CHILD should have to go through this!

I understand your yearning for peace, but what you don't seem to understand is that Israel is only the frontline of a global war. If we don't finish off the Hezbollah (who, by the way, are civilians - they have no legitimate military standing) while they are attacking Israel, soon they will be attacking Michigan.
My daughter lives in Tzfat, and she and approximately 250,000 other Israelis are now war refugees in their own homeland. The media has not conveyed the immensity of the impact on Israel. True, bombs have landed in Lebanon. I do not doubt that your friends' reports are true, however thousands of bombs have landed in Israel too, and this was an unprovoked surprise attack. There was a ceasefire before this all started. What makes you think that the same people who broke the ceasefire before will keep it this time? Do you really want to negotiate with terrorists? You can only fight an "honorable" war (if such a thing can be said to exist) with honorable opponents. These are the same folks who hide behind their kids, who blow up nightclubs full of teenagers, busses full of women and children, start wars on religious holidays, etc.
I am a fellow fiber artist who wants peace just as much as you do - maybe even more, because, so far, this war is being fought on my home territory. I am just saying, "Don't jump to simplistic conclusions."
All the best, and I like your work.

Thank you for your comment. And, as I said, I agree that the Israeli's should be able to live in their homeland in peace. So should the Palestinians and Lebanese. The Lebanese people did not attack Israel; Hezbollah (made up of extremist/terrorists from many Middle Eastern countries) did. So why bomb Lebanon to *try* to kill these terrorists. It's like chopping down a forest to put out a camp fire. Instead of shooting at everyone and hoping you kill the terrorists who have slipped into the crowd, join with the Lebanese government and use intelligence and teamwork to hunt down the terrorists?

All Israel is doing is buying right into what Hezbollah wants....making themselves even more hated by the Muslim world. I want to see Israel have a secure homeland as I would like very much to visit the Middle East. As it stands right now, I can't even visit our family's land in Lebanon because Israeli bombs are falling on it.

And please note: the unprovoked surprise attack was made by Hezbollah, NOT the Lebanese people or their government.

Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
