The stairway to the basement. The bar across was put in at my sugggestion because my friend's mother had an acoustic neuroma- a slow-growing, nonmalignant tumor of the acoustic nerve on the left- so she had balance problems and walked with her left arm out. I was always afraid she would fall down the stairs so Tara's father-in-law (who is a finish-work carpenter) installed the bar. The wall with the two portraits (Tara and her brother, Tim) will eventually be the site of a LARGE, 3D picture of a peacock done in semi-precious stones that my parents bought in Singapore. I will have to hire a carpenter to hang it as it is so heavy it's going to need a reinforced hanging technique. The far wall of the stairwell is begging for an oriental wall hanging just right to use some of my kimono silks!

Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
