The new condo/studio/girl's retreat. This belonged to my best friend's (of 36+ years) mom, Rose, who passed away last June. Now it will be my studio and a place for my dad to stay when he visits (he stayed there when Rose was still alive) and a place for Tara and I to *get away.* Tara runs a horse-boarding/training/riding facility at her home so it's nice to go where you aren't constantly thinking about what needs to be done (because she's one who just HAS to go do it). So, we will have our little overnight escapes here from time-to-time. The basement takes up the entire footprint of the condo so there is LOTS of room down there for my *wet* studio where I won't ruin anything.

Wow! You get a whole condo?!? Why did I think you were building a studio at your house? Or were you planning one for the U.P.? These details all blur together....

Long story -short.....DH is being a PITA and thinks only HIS desires are important. He is getting more controlling in his old age. Well, he married the wrong woman if he wants to make all the decisions. UP land is for sale (but it won't hurt my feelings if it doesn't sell) and new home/studio construction is on hold until Joey graduates in 2010. Then decisions will be made. Until then, I needed space and the condo is a good investment.

Well, haven't you been busy! I've been waiting for you to post again. The weaving looks great - what sort of loom is that? I've been given a spinning wheel (not that I canuse it yet, waiting for winter & more time) but want a loom too. As for your condo - I would type this in GREEN if I could! But just wait till I get my space in the Historic Precinct (when? when?) .

Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
