It's Gabrielle's Fault AGAIN
But, this really IS right on. Scarey........

you are violet
#EE82EE

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

The New Puppy
Had to share a picture of Kaiser. He is a rescue and turned 10 months old the 26th. Not much of a watch dog but he sure is sweet (except when he's chasing the cat).

Newest Project
This is the wide view of my *working* bulletin board. From left to right is my loon (still waiting to quilt it), a small piece, "Autumn Leaves on a Stone Fence" that I started while teaching a fusing workshop at The American Sewing Expo in Novi. Last is the most current work that simmered while I was at the Fabrications retreat (Roscommon, MI) over the weekend of Oct. 14-16 (wonderful, wonderful time with such wonderful and talented people).

Background on the last piece: the day we were taking my mother's ashes out to sea I took my camera along. My good friends, Frank and Liane Marino, took us in their boat, along the Hillsboro Canal and out the Boca Inlet. I snapped photos of some very interesting houses along the way. This was one of them. One of the things I really liked about it was it was NOT a Mediterranean. I also loved the windows and the reflections in them. So, much later, I cropped the picture WAY down, blew up the result, transformed it first into a posterized version and then let PhotoShop find the edges. So, here I am.....got the sky pieced together. Now I need to add the fusible interfacing and trim.

No Go with *Hello*
Ok, I got an error message when I tried to upload pictures using Hello. So, I am guessing there is something wrong with Picasa. Ok, then the pictures will be published later.

Picasa *Blog This* Problems
Ok, I don't know what is going on but the *Blog This* feature in Picasa will NOT post pictures for me. All I end up with is a link to Picasa. So, I guess I will have to post the pictures the old fashioned way.....

Once again, it's all Gabrielle's fault. Still, Iris is one of my favorites......

Great weekend at the Fabrications Retreat in northern Michigan. Spent a very helpful time with Laura Cater-Woods...now, back to cleaning the studio so I can get to work!!

You Are An Iris

You are a unique woman who needs a lot of novelty in her life.
An inspiration seeker, you often have to change scenery to recharge.
You don't deal well with structure or rules. You need to do it your own way.
Your ideal relationships are free and flowing. No one can tie you down.

Off to the North!
Ok...time to get off the computer and finish rounding up my stuff for the trip north to the Fibrations Retreat and a weekend with Laura Cater-Woods and many other wonderfully creative women!

I'm not taking the computer because I seriously doubt that the R.A.M. Center has WiFi......Besides, I have too many other things to do...like be creative, take photos and knit socks!!

Uh..Yeah......
I know, I know.....It's all Melody's fault!! Well, not ALL her fault. But, a big portion of it. you see, besides being gone to Maine over Labor Day, and my class reunion, and vending with 3 lovely, wonderful women (Cathy Arnett, Desi Vaughn and Deb Harowitz) at the American Sewing Expo- I now need to get ready to leave for a retreat tomorrow (set up by the aforementioned Cathy) and I CAN'T STOP KNITTING SOCKS!!!! That's why it's Mrs. Mel's fault. She got me hooked! I haven't even finished unpacking from Novi and that was almost 2 weeks ago! But, I have to unpack now so I can PACK to leave tomorrow!

Anyway....I know I have a ton of pictures to post and I will....I PROMISE. But, in the meantime we are trying to close on the sale of some property (the buyer seems to have pulled a disappearing act- but, I still have his deposit and he is NOT getting it back), trying to adopt another dog (German Shepherd, of course), and am still working on decluttering the house (the Herbie was so heavy this week Mike had to tip it for me before I could roll it to the road).

So, I have to Kitchner the toe of a cool lime green and purple sock I made myself (and, if you don't know what Kitchner is..........I guess you will have to take up sock knitting yourself and find out!!

teri...off to unpack and repack as soon as this sock is off the needles......

About Me

Name: Teri Springer
Home: Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada
About Me: Studio Art Quilt Associates for the Atlantic Canada Region (New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island). Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
