New Work
Ok, I have had this photo of a house on the Hillsboro Channel in Boca Raton since we took my mother's ashes out to sea. The house was really cool. Later, I noticed the windows had a very "empty" feeling to them and it very well reflected (no pun intended) my mood of the day. So, I played with the picture in Photoshop; cropped and did a posterized version and then a line drawing version. I took it to the local blue print shop and had a couple of blow-up prints made. Then it sat. I just wasn't ready to work on it yet.

Then, for whatever reason, I took the drawing along with me to the Fabrications retreat in northern Michigan. There I was taking a class with Laura Cater-Woods. She and I discussed the piece and both agreed- it was time to make it.

So, here we go......

Detail shot of the sky and upper level.

Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
