A Mess is Upon Us
The remodel of our downstairs bathroom continues.....This morning I got up and painted. Well, I primed. First coat is on but it's going to require at least two since I am dealing with partially new drywall (to replace the stuff that got wet from a leak on the main floor) and old, oil based, paint. I left the wall with the door and the ceiling for my elder son, Jamie. He is a painter in the summer when he is out of school and can "cut in" around the wood trim much better than I can. Also, since he is 6'5" he can do the ceiling much easier than I can. So, he can finish up and do the second coat (if he ever gets here) and then the color (a lovely golden called "Toasted Croissant"). He owes me $$ for his cell phone bills and car insurance so I am making him work it off.

In the meantime, I came across these great bathroom fans that have a humidistat in them. You turn them on when you go to take a shower and, when you turn them off, they continue to run until the humidity level drops to a set level. They will also go on automatically if there is a rise in humidity to a certain level. So, instead of just buying one for the new bathroom, I bought 3 so all the bathrooms would have good fans. I did NOT know this would require cutting holes in walls and getting into the attic.

Now, see, THIS was a challenge. Our attic access is through a 16" square "door" in the ceiling of one of my bedroom closests. I had intended to had a door cut in the wall over the door from the garage into the house and add pull-down stairs. Well, that was 22+ years ago. We never had a need to get into the attic so it never got done. SOOOOOO......I had turned the closet in which this access is, into my fabric storage on the main floor so it was close to my studio. I have a five shelf, restaurant-grade, metal unit in there, stuffed with, well, stuff! So, at the moment, I don't have a bed!

Oh well, they should be done soon.

Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
