Taking a LLWS Break the back on the charity quilt. Have one of 7 (yes, 7) hanging loops on the back sewn down. The quilt was too long to do one long sleeve. Once I get those done I need to do a limited amount of outline quilting to highlight the horses and attach the final backing to the front and then a small amount of beading in the darkest part of the sky....add the label and it's done!

So, I am taking a break to watch the LLWS- Maitland, FL vs the California team. Coming into Williamsport the Cal. team was the one to beat but I think Ewa Beach, Hawaii is going to give them a run for their money. Personally, I am cheering for Ewa Beach. Though, I hate to see any of them lose. These kids are so much more fun to watch than the pros....these kids are playing for all the right reasons.....

Too Much To DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AArrgghhhhh. I shouldn't be here writing but....I have 3 extra kids since yesterday. Joey's 14th birthday was yesterday so I had him, his best buddy, Joe, who turned 13 the 22nd and just got back from the summer in western Minnesota with his dad, buddy Ben, who is adorable but so ADHD and cousin Cody who is a great kid but....put them all together.....I am crazy. At least I didn't end up with the 8 friends over he wanted!!

Anyway...anyone who tried to email me since Saturday am....I may not have received your message since my email was down. It's working fine now. BUT, I have to run into Kalamazoo today to meet with Deb Harowitz (of Scarlet Zebra) and get the hanging tabs on the charity quilt and the backing and then figure out where (and what kind) of beads it needs. Make the label and type up the care directions. Then pack for Ferry Beach, hope the beads I ordered arrive in time (they are supposed to get here tomorrow) so I can finish the kits. Try to find the instruction packets I printed out so I don't have to make more (I already made 10 and only need 2). The house is (once again) a mess and my dad is coming back up September 15th to go to the MSU-Notre Dame game (dad is a ND alum) with Jamie which means I will have to clean again....sigh.....was hoping to have time to get rid of more stuff before I needed to do this again.

So, WHY am I writing in my blog???? Well, got an email today regarding the ring "Beaders who Blog" that my code was gone. When I changed my template I lost all the ring codes and couldn't remember which ones I needed. Thanks Steph!! Now, I PROMISE to get some bead work posted to the blog when I get back from Ferry Beach., to work!!!

More stuff I can Blame on Gabrielle
Since my email STILL isn't working, I am reading blogs. Gabrielle led me to the page with all these blasted tests.....This is it for now tho....I am off to the studio to (hopefully) finish quilting the charity quilt.

And, this test result is the same result I got taking the personality sorter many years ago in college.

INFP - "Questor". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world. High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4% of total population.

This is all Gabrielle's fault......

Global Personality Test Results
Stability (46%) medium which suggests you are moderately relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.
Orderliness (23%) low which suggests you are overly flexible, improvised, and fun seeking at the expense too often of reliability, work ethic, and long term accomplishment.
Extraversion (56%) moderately high which suggests you are, at times, overly talkative, outgoing, sociable and interacting at the expense of developing your own individual interests and internally based identity.

Yes, I'm still Here
Just been busy, busy, busy. For "Partners in Clean" Week 5- my bedroom, the upstairs dumping ground, is almost done. I still have the tops of the two armoires, under the bed and one box of misc. papers to go through. Two BIG bags of photos are now sitting in the living room waiting for me to sort them. But I can walk all the way around the bed (well, the head of the bed is against the wall but YOU know what I mean) without tripping or breaking a toe. I HAD intended to do Joey's room while he and his dad were on vacation but my room has taken longer than I anticipated. Plus, I have been trying to get the charity quilt done. Last night and a good part of the afternoon was spent carefully unsewing two spots of fmq (can you say PITA???) so I wouldn't tear the tulle. Unsewing is done so now I get back to sewing....

Tag...You're it:

id*i*o*syn*cra*sy - a structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group. Write down 5 of your own idiosyncrasies, then if you wish, tag 5 people.

1) my son noted this the other day- when eating something greasy, like french fries, after each *bunch* I wipe my fingers on my jeans leg before reaching for more.

2) number 1 must be related to an old habit, when bowling (as I did a lot of in my youth- made it to the Illinois State YBA finals in my senior year) when I get up to bowl I pick up my ball by the finger holes (to avoid getting pinched fingers), the trasfer it to my left arm where I cradle it while choosing my mark to stand on, then I wipe my hand several times on the thigh of my jeans before putting my fingers in the holes. I actually wore out the right thigh of several pairs of jeans in high school doing this because I also bowled in the state tournament as the only female in the state in the boy's division of team qualifiers (we didn't have enough guys in the age division).

3) I brush my teeth before I shower.

4) The rest of my house may be a disaster but my cupboards and closets are neat.

5) I always start out the night (when going to sleep) on my back but I always sleep on my side (either). If the night critters aren't loud enough (or if it's too hot or cold out to have the window open) I have to have a CD of relaxing music on to fall asleep.

Ok....who's next??

Simple Still Life
I didn't have time to do a fiber entry for this month so I just played with the image in Photoshop. So, here it is. I just played with the brightness and contrast and some filters. I will print this out on canvas as I have just the place for it!

Fiberart for a Cause
Spread the word: thanks to Virginia Spiegel's setting up an on-line auction site $13, 700 was raised for the American Cancer Society with sales of both postcards and an art reverse auction! She had $12, 900 in hand at the Relay, and her team had over $15,000 total at the Relay. She won a gold medal for highest individual fundraiser, for which she gives credit to all who participated. Her team was also top fundraiser.

Fiberart For a Cause raised more money than any individual, any team, and, with one exception, any corporate sponsor! Now that's serious fundraising!

So, everyone who made a card or cards to sell or other art work and those who purchased art, HERE'S TO YOU!!

About Me

About Me: Studio Art Quilt Associates for the Atlantic Canada Region (New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island). Quote:Apples and Wine: Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough & smart enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the hell out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
